German Kummooyeh Masters Earn 5th Dan in Korea
Two German Kummooyeh masters, Tim Olbrich and Maik Löhr, recently embarked on a journey to Korea to participate in one of the most challenging training programs and examinations. As part of the World Kummooyeh Federation’s prestigious Master Program, they spent nearly two weeks at the renowned Kummooyeh Outdoor Training Center under the skilled guidance of Grandmaster Hyun Kyoo Jang.
Training in the secluded Korean countryside offered a new depth to their martial arts practice. For both masters, this training was more than just physical preparation; it was an exploration of Kummooyeh as a discipline and a way of life, requiring unwavering commitment and mental focus. From sunrise to sunset, the masters dedicated themselves to a demanding regimen that pushed them both physically and mentally, forging an even stronger connection to their craft.
After this intensive period of training, the masters faced a two-day examination to earn the 5th Dan, one of the highest ranks in Kummooyeh. The exam required not only physical strength but also intense mental resilience, pushing the limits of their concentration, skill, and endurance. Every aspect of their technique was assessed: from the precision of their sword cuts to their mastery of advanced sword forms and alignment with Kummooyeh’s philosophy.
Under the watchful eye of Grandmaster Jang, who carefully observed every movement, each stance, and each cut, the two demonstrated their progress and deep commitment to Kummooyeh. By the end of the rigorous test, both masters had proven themselves ready and were awarded the 5th Dan.
Back at the Kummooyeh headquarters in Songdo, Master Tim and Master Maik were honored in a ceremonial event, where they were officially presented with the insignia of the 5th Dan. This significant milestone not only marks a high point in their personal journeys but also establishes them as role models and leaders in the international Kummooyeh community.
The World Kummooyeh Federation expressed pride in their achievements and their unwavering dedication to completing the challenging program.
The 5th Dan promotion stands as a testament to their technical skill, personal growth, and profound dedication to the art of Kummooyeh, inspiring practitioners around the world to pursue mastery with the same passion.
